Facts Concerning The Christian Church

We accept no creed but Christ Matt. 16: 16-18
" Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God...upon this rock I will build My Church."

We wear only the name which gives all honor to Christ. Acts 11:26
"And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch."

We recognize no other authority than Chris. Matt 28:18-20
"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.."

We believe Christ gave man a plan of salvation:

1.Faith- Hebrews 11:6
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

2.Repentance- Luke 13:3
"I tell you, Nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

3.Confession- Matt 10:32
Who ever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven .

4.Baptism- Romans 6:4
"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

5.Christian Living- Revelation 2:10
" Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life." Also 2 Peter 1:5-11

We believe in New Testament Communion Acts 20: 7
"..Upon the first day of the week when the disciples came together to break bread..."

We believe in Christian Stewardship 1 Corinthians 16:2
"Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store,as God hath prospered him.."

The Object Of Our Existence Is:

1. TO RESTORE Primitive Christianity, and the consequent union of all followers of Christ in one body.

2.TO EXHALT Christ above party and His Word above human creeds.

3.TO BUILD a church of Christ without denominational name, man-written creed or other barrier to Christian unity , whose terms of fellowship shall be as broad as the conditions of salvation and identical with them,

4. TO LEAD sinners to Christ in the clear light of the New Testament teaching.

We are a non-denominational New Testament congregation, part of a world wide movement to restore the essentials of apostolic Christianity as a means to the unity of all Christian believers. We are a free, democratic, friendly people. We believe in Biblical Christianity and endeavor to lead lives of faithfulness and devotion. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the divine Son of God, and Lord and Savior. We accept the Bible as the inspired record of God's revelation to man. We believe that the New Testament is the only divine rule of faith and practice given to the followers of Christ.

First Christian Church does not believe in, is not affiliated with, nor does it support the National Council of Churches, the World Council of Churches, or the International Convention of Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ).
